We took Maeva on her very first trip to the beautiful Lone Star State of TEXAS on May 7, 2012. Andy and I were excited to get there but Maeva had some major nap plans as we crossed the border just north of Dallas...
Anyway, we made the drive in 13.5 hours which was a record (in our books) traveling with a baby and dog! Woo-hoo! Texas couldn't have looked better :)
While we were there Aunt Mandy (my sister Amanda) graduated from her LVN (Licensed Vocational Nursing) program. Sooo proud of her and her accomplishments!! Next step is a job and program #2 to obtain her RN license!
Her pinning ceremony was scheduled for 6pm, which is exactly when Maeva starts to wind down for the night. So trying to entertain a 5 1/2 month old during a ceremony and a celebratory dinner at Brio afterwards was definitely work! And she wasn't happy with
anything we were trying to do for her. Poor baby just wanted her bath and bedtime! We normally wouldn't take her out knowing this situation would likely happen, but for special occasions like this, we took the risk... and learned a lesson or two! (Notice Andy's expression - he was telling his Mom that's enough pictures, we have to go!)
Andy's parents put in a pool and hot tub a few years ago so one afternoon we went over to enjoy it for a short bit. Maeva LOVES the water! And the outdoors in general. :)
Somebody is about to wake up from their morning nap so part 2 to come later...!
